Today is for You

American Eagle jacket, AA Juvenile Delinquents shirt, H&M pants, Converse leather shoes, free yard sale hair scarf

Taking it easy. Slouchy slouchy slouch! Asian mother pants are good for the soul, good for the fashion, good for the laid back style yes!
Something about the ruched drawstring waist makes tucking in shirts irresistible.
On a sidenote, I am in love with my leather Converses...comfortable and classically stylish, with just the right touch of retro Americana, sporty and oh so cla$$y.
And...I just spent an hour browsing the internet. Back to college apps.

Why the Long Face?

headband, DIY; shiny dolman hoodie, American Apperal

College applications have kept me quite the busy bee.
Also, moving to China. In January.
Also, many new rad-tastic clothing purchases including all-leather converses,
American Apparel fun-ness, black firday hooh-hah, etc.
Also, please enjoy this water color/acrylic self portrait.
Also, this headband was made from a discarded piece of flower bouquet chiffon wrapping.
Being a pack rat sho comes in handy.

Happy Late Thanksgiving

Concrete Jungle

On a delightful little trip to see the Merry Wives of Windsor. Hopefully I can mend the gaping rips in these tights, or else I may have to engineer them into thigh highs...or something of the like. I wear this disheveled sweater far too much for my own good. And these rubbery marching band shoes are in need of a good washing.
*Face obscured to protect my dignity.

outfit details: ratty sweater, mom's discarded clothes; cardboard bag, surplus store; skirt, target (4$!!); tights, AA(BOO, they're ripped); marching band shoes, Dinkles.

My New Hurr

I welcome my new raid hair into the world with glee! Sadly, my hairstylist didn't want to damage my hair and bleach it so no blue hair for me at the moment. I like to think of this hair as an homage to Run Lola Run and anime characters who will always be cooler than me.

please stop smiling like that you're creeping me out.

Ahh, much better.

Could my clothing brands be any LESS hip?

This Hair Will Be Mine Someday

And also, that maroon and black ombre tulle skirt.
And also, those lace socks.
And also, those rubber-tastic platforms.
I love the entire almost-goth-but-not-quite-slash-witchy feel of this outfit. And there ya have it.

Introducing

I now have a Tumblr.

Tadah.

My Tumblr will be more art/doodle focused, a bit more informal and journal-esque, if you may. An online sketchbook/inspiration book. Enjoy.

Two Kewl for $kool

Another year of highschool. The last year of high school. Huzzah?
And what better way to start the year than by donning all black and gelling the hair into a '50 style pompadour? At least, that was the look I was going for. In retrospect, my look may have come off as a little bit female car-mechanic. As of late, I have been experimenting with slash attempting simpler looks; I feel that my clashing has lately gotten a bit too gimmicky and thoughtless. I want to mix it up a bit, explore, and find my own style. As much as I wish I were as confident in my style as other young bloggers out there these days, I feel my fashion sense still has a ways to go before I find an aesthetic that really speaks to me. Perhaps adding a little Pascal to my wardrobe decisions will add some class to my clashing. Oh darn, was that too much introspective philosophizing for one post?

*Delightful.

*Short hair is so great. I eagerly anticipate the coming days of pompadours, faux hawks, and attempts at Morrissey Hair.

No Thank You, SIR

ring ring. Oh, hay thur school.
Impropriety in the Fourth Dimension; Oil on primed cardboard.

Why Hello there, delightful Victorian Family. How do you fare on this very fine evening?
What's that, you say? Speak up a bit, bear child.
Ahh, so school is now in session? Your creator* is now a Senior? In Highschool?
How utterly DELIGHTFUL.
Fantastic, if I may add.
Octopus, do not be shy. Did I hear you whisper something?
Oh Bother, that's right. Your creator SHOULD be doing her homework,
Most Definitely.
And so I bid thee adieu fair family.
Until next time.

FUN

This is me stagnating in my house all day.

MYSPACE FACE!!1!<3
According to Heidi, it's hard to take clothes and yourself seriously in American Apparel.
I think I agree.

These pants are the epitome of FUN. Now if only I had $78 lying around...

Because I am Feeling Guilty About Being a Neglectful Blogger Again

enjoy. Back when I had hair.

And on a more sobering note, today at H&M I had a close and harrowing encounter with...dare I even name them? No I shall not. Well, then, let me describe them. Three teens dressed in graphic t-shirts and ripped shorts, topped with drapey jersey vests. I gazed upon their listless forms perusing a rack at said H&M and I hear them murmur amongst themselves... "Is 80's still in?"
SIGH. Poor mindless, ignorant masses. The delicacies, intricacies, and beauty of fashion is lost upon them.

Oh, and By the Way

And now, enter a new chapter of fun (almost? ish?) baldness of my life.

Snapped at the Getty. Perfection in a skirt, I daresay, and hearkens back to the glory of the book The Many Adventures of Curious George and its illustrations. HUZZAH. I love snazzy old ladies.

The Blogger Hath Return-ed

I may or may not soon be switching from frivolous outfit posts to more of an art and writing-focused blog, but that is too be determined. There is still much ruminating and soul searching to be done, because on one hand I do love some silliness and fun, but on the other hand I want somewhere serious where I can compile my artwork without distractions like, well, something like this little spiel. To be continued...

tea party table for one

Aah, tea parties, how the word sets my heart a-flutter. Simply the mention of English breakfast tea brings me back to last summer and my delightful escapades around Europe with the grandparents. While I was in London I grew specifically fond of English breakfast tea due to fun-tastic hotel breakfasts of baked beans, mushrooms, marmite, and most of all my beloved ENGNLISH BREAKFAST TEA with a splash of cream and two packets of sugar.

is not this a delightful British breaking of the fast? photo hailing from last year's euro trip (hence the lack of bowl-cutted-ness)

Pictured below is my attempt at recrecreating those charming breakfasts, albeit in a bit of a daintier fashion, with a pot of tea and a rhubarb tart. And yes, my mother laughed at me for lovingly photographing my breakfast.

pay no heed to the tacky portrait in the background...all the better if it goes unnoticed!

mmm, look at how scrumtious and bursting with rhubarb-tastic flavor and British charm
